Attention: Rising 6th Grade Parents

Greetings, Redan Tiger Parents:

Current 5th graders (Lithonia Middle School Rising 6th graders) Parents:

There will be a free 6th Grade Transition Academy held at Lithonia Middle School July 15-18 and July 22-25 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Transportation along with breakfast and lunch will be provided. Students will have an opportunity to meet their teachers, counselors and administrators for the upcoming year. They will also work on math and literacy skills and receive their 19-20 school schedule. Please stop by Lithonia Middle to complete a registration form by Tuesday, July 2.

Additionally, students will not be required to wear uniforms next year. We will follow the DCSD dress code policy. Parents, please do not purchase jeans with rips, tears or holes in them as they will not be allowed for male or female students. Also, please do not purchase leggings (Nike, Adidas, Pink etc...) for your students. All pants worn by female students will be required to have either a button, zipper or pockets. Finally, slides/slippers will not be allowed for male or female students. All students must wear fully enclosed shoes.

Lastly, in the interest of safety and security, we are requiring that all students have clear or mesh book bags only as there will be no locker usage next year.
